Ordinal numerals are generally used with nouns.
They change for gender and number like adjectives.

The ordinal numerals whose stem ends in a hard consonant take the endings -ый, -ой, -ая, -ое The ordinal numerals ending in -ый in the masculine always have the ending unstressed: первый, первая, первое.
